Specializes in Child & Family Therapy
Mandy Diers, LMHCA
Do you struggle with your child's intense meltdowns, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, or trauma that affects your family's day-to-day life, school routine, and closest relationships? Do you feel overwhelmed and exhausted by trying to navigate your child's big behaviors and the constant stress of just getting through the day? Do you hope that your home dynamic, your child's emotional well-being, and your own personal sense of peace could be better?
I believe no one should have to navigate these developmental hurdles alone and that everyone deserves a space to be seen, heard, and understood. While my core passion is supporting children and families through play and connection, I also warmly welcome and work with adults who are navigating their own anxieties or healing from past trauma. I start with meeting you and/or your child exactly where you are to build a safe, empathetic relationship. I help you by looking past outward behaviors to understand what your or your child's nervous system needs to feel secure, and I weave in relational neuroscience to bring true regulation back into your life or your home.
Our time together will blend this neuroscience-backed perspective with gentle, experiential tools tailored to your unique needs. Holding specialized training in Theraplay Level 1, I collaborate closely with caregivers to repair and deepen parent-child connections through intentional, relational play. Because words can sometimes feel like too much, I utilize Child-Centered Play Therapy and sandtray therapy to offer powerful expressive outlets for processing deep emotions and trauma. Throughout this collaborative journey, I weave in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy alongside somatic grounding and sensory tools, allowing clients of all ages to safely build practical resilience, concrete self-compassion, and healthy coping strategies at a gradual, comfortable pace.
I earned my MA in mental health counseling from Grace College and am actively completing advanced post-graduate trainings in play therapy to ensure I am always bringing the highest standard of care to our sessions. I know it takes immense courage to reach out for help, and I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth.
