Relationship Specialist

Jennifer Snider, LMHC

Many of us remain in difficult relationships and situations until we are stressed and worried to the point that it impacts our sleep, makes us feel exhausted, and diminishes the joy in activities we once enjoyed. We often overthink, trying to edit ourselves or others to avoid feeling lonely. If this sounds familiar, I invite you to step out of this cycle and check in with yourself. It’s okay if you don’t know how to get out—asking for help is a courageous first step. Congratulations on reaching out and trying to make a change!

My Counseling Approach

My approach is to walk alongside you, helping you identify what got you stuck and empowering you to create the life you want. I provide a safe space where you can tune into yourself, learn to identify your emotions, and recognize the information they provide so you can take effective action. We might explore messages learned from your childhood and family environments to see how they contribute to keeping you stuck in a dissatisfied or frustrated life.

As a culture, we try to avoid our emotions, often doing anything we can to not feel them. I teach the opposite...how to notice and develop a language of emotions so that we can utilize the information emotion is trying to communicate to us to make informed decisions for our life. Emotions are a gift, they don't have to passively dictate our choices, and they're great informers!
